Idiom Posts Strong 2005 Gains, Kicks Off 2006 With Significant Product And Customer Momentum
More Than 45 Percent Growth in Sales Year-Over-Year; New WorldServer Pricing
and Packaging Strategies Pave the Way for Success in the Midmarket
Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - January 23, 2006 - Idiom
® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the leading independent provider of scalable software solutions for accelerating and optimizing globalization initiatives, today announced it achieved several important milestones in 2005, including major customer wins such as Home Depot, Mattel and Toro; the launch of an innovative language service provider partnership program; and a new midmarket business strategy featuring expanded pricing and packaging options for the company's WorldServer globalization software. This strong business momentum was underscored with more than 45 percent growth in sales year-over-year and plans to increase Idiom staff by 25 percent in 2006.
"The year 2005 saw a confluence of events, including shifts in the competitive landscape and greater emphasis on the adoption of more targeted, customer-oriented global business strategies," said Mike Iacobucci, president and CEO, Idiom Technologies. "Idiom acted quickly to take advantage of massive growth opportunities in the globalization software market. With marquee new customer wins, an expanded midmarket business focus, expanded WorldServer pricing and packaging options and a proven track record of globalization success stories, Idiom positions itself going into 2006 as an important, partner-centric company in the globalization supply chain."
New Company Leadership, Customer Wins and Industry AccoladesIn the past year, Idiom added significant new customers including UGS; Continental Airlines; the Center on Outcomes, Research and Education (CORE); District of Columbia Office of Human Rights; Home Depot; Mattel and Toro - to name only a few. These customers selected WorldServer based on the maturity and reliability of the software solution and its ability to support their overall global business initiatives with a scalable, cost-effective approach to translation and localization processes. Additionally, as a testament to the value of WorldServer, several existing customers, such as GE Healthcare, McAfee, Motorola and Symantec, further expanded their use of Idiom globalization software. Idiom was also recognized as a 2005 ClientSide Excellence Awards winner in the category of "Localization technologies — Web Localization Tools."
To help bring its new product and sales strategies to market, Idiom welcomed President and CEO Mike Iacobucci to its senior management team. Iacobucci brings more than 25 years of experience positioning companies for rapid growth in emerging enterprise software and electronic publishing markets. Previously, he was an executive in residence at Sigma Partners and a founder of Books24x7. Idiom also added Tony Dolph, vice president of marketing and corporate development, and Ed Spies, vice president and corporate controller.
"I am proud of the milestones Idiom has reached over the past year. In my opinion, we exceeded the goals we had set for the company and have really turned a corner in terms of industry influence and broader brand recognition for our WorldServer globalization solutions," said Eric Silberstein, founder and CTO, Idiom Technologies. "Our momentum is certainly driven by the vision and commitment of our talented employees. Additionally, with new senior management team members in place, Idiom is stronger and more driven to succeed than ever before."
Expanded Partnership Strategies Idiom launched its WorldServer LSP Advantage Program in June. This program was created to aggressively fill an emerging market need driven by consolidation in the translation software and services market. As a result, independent language service providers (LSPs) including COMSYS, Localize Technologies, OmniLingua, Wessex Translations Limited, WH&P and 1-800-Translate now take advantage of the enterprise-class functionality of Idiom WorldServer at no charge, in an offering that was developed specifically for their business model and customer service needs. As members of the program, LSPs also become valuable partners for Idiom by potentially reselling or hosting WorldServer software or by becoming a channel to help spur additional enterprise sales.
Leveraging industry partnerships with companies such as Adobe and Blast Radius, Idiom made significant headway in promoting the use of DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) to enable global organizations – especially those with complex content communications requirements – to speed the transition to modern, topic-oriented approaches using accepted industry standards such as XML.
New WorldServer Pricing and Packaging Support Move to the MidmarketIn December 2005, Idiom launched new pricing and packaging options for WorldServer along with several fixed-price, pre-packaged QuickStart professional service offerings to aid rapid deployment of the company's globalization software. Idiom observed that midmarket companies were facing the same globalizations challenges as their larger peers, but often on a smaller scale. By offering new WorldServer product and service packages designed to scale with customers' globalization needs, Idiom successfully addressed previously unmet translation and localization needs of smaller global enterprises and departments within large international organizations.
"Idiom has consistently demonstrated its ability to remain proactive and nimble in setting new business strategies that align the company with growing customer needs and globalization market trends," said Bob Davoli, managing director, Sigma Partners. "Idiom is in an enviable position where it has a mature, proven and reliable product, but at the same time can move quickly to launch new corporate initiatives that have the power to shake up the industry. We are confident that its expanded midmarket focus, strong partnership strategy and flexible WorldServer pricing and packaging plans will further drive revenues and market share in the coming year."
