Idiom To Participate In The Xml Austin Users Group "Dita Double Feature"

Idiom Founder and CTO Eric Silberstein and IBM's DITA Guru Don Day to Co-Present at May 11th Event


Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - May 5, 2005 - Idiom® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the only enterprise software company to deliver advanced XML-based publishing and content globalization solutions, today announced that its founder and CTO Eric Silberstein has been selected to co-present with IBM's Don Day at the XML Austin Users Group "DITA Double Feature." The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, 2005 from 7 - 8:45 p.m. CDT.

Silberstein's presentation, "Closing the Globalization Gap with XML and DITA," will highlight the cost, quality and time-to-market advantages of Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA)-based deployments. Silberstein will also provide a demonstration of WorldServer™ OpenTopic, the only commercial DITA-powered solution to help global companies accelerate the delivery of XML-based documents to market by simplifying the creation, management, localization and production of print and electronic documents. Day will report on DITA and XML interest generated at the recent Content Management Strategies Conference and demonstrate advanced functionality of the DITA Open Toolkit.

About the Presenters

Eric Silberstein founded Idiom in 1998 and is the company's visionary, focusing on globalization practices and product direction. He takes personal responsibility for customer relations and for maintaining a company culture that is committed to customer success and team enrichment. While completing his BA in computer science at Harvard University, Silberstein served on the founding team of Chipshot.com as vice president of technology. During summer positions at Microsoft, first in the Redmond office and then in their Beijing office, Silberstein worked on the localization of Microsoft Word. Silberstein has founded and directed several volunteer youth programs, has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia, and speaks Chinese and Russian.

Don Day designs and supports publishing tools for IBM's Information Development community and has represented IBM on the W3C XSL and CSS Working Groups. For the past several years, Don has led the workgroups that developed the original DITA specification, and now chairs the OASIS DITA Technical Committee that is making DITA an open standard. He has a BA in english, a BA in journalism, and an MA in technical and professional communication from New Mexico State University.
