Idiom Introduces Globalmobile™ - First Global M-Commerce Initiative

Idiom Expands Global Partner Network To Embrace Wireless Technology Providers

Waltham, MA - December 13, 2000 - Idiom Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of e-business globalization solutions, today announced GlobalMobile™, the industry's first globalization initiative in the emerging wireless and m-commerce marketplace. Idiom will extend its industry-leading Web globalization technology, WorldServer™, to wireless content, and expand its Global Partner Network™ with wireless technology vendors including iConverse and NetMorf.

"Idiom is recognized as the pioneer of the Web globalization space, and we're continuing our innovation by extending the wireless industry to support global markets," said Fred Lizza, president and CEO of Idiom. "Just as companies have been using Idiom WorldServer to globalize their Web sites to tap the potential of the global economy, they can now further tap the exploding global m-commerce marketplace."

The Global Wireless Web Supports M-Commerce
Wireless will become a dominant Internet access point for e-business, with Gartner Group predicting that by 2003, all e-business initiatives will include some element that is delivered across a mobile wireless channel. Companies will now face many of the same issues they faced with tethered Web e-businesses. As companies struggle to attract online customers outside their domestic markets, their next critical hurdle will be supporting wireless users of their e-business sites.

Idiom's WorldServer was developed for e-business content globalization, with wireless content now one form of supported content. Through its open XML connector, WorldServer can support Wireless Markup Language (WML) as well as other common languages used for wireless development. This enables translators and marketers to easily localize content targeted at a wide variety of mobile devices without learning new tools, using different systems to manage the content, or inadvertently altering the markup language that controls the display of content.

Global Partner Network™ Goes Wireless
The Global Partner Network brings together the best technologies and services for e-business globalization. Idiom today announces the expansion of that program to specifically cover the wireless marketplace with several key new partnerships, including iConverse and NetMorf. These wireless focused companies offer expanded expertise and enable Idiom customers to develop integrated enterprise-wide global wireless applications.

"From day one, the m-business channel has been a global one, and NetMorf's SiteMorfer platform has been architected to support multiple languages, input and characteristics that vary greatly across the world," stated Michael Maggio, president and CEO of NetMorf. "Our multi-national presence complements this partnership with Idiom to facilitate the rapid adoption of the mobile channel by multi-national corporations who must deal with the added complexity of a global marketplace."

"iConverse is committed to helping companies create, deploy, and maintain the right wireless applications that deliver the richest end-user experience possible, regardless of mobile device," said Ron Matros, CEO and president of iConverse. "Participating in Idiom's GlobalMobile initiative is a natural step in our strategic development, aiding us to provide multi-language solutions on an international level."
