Ptc Strengthens Commitment To Worldwide Customers With Content Globalization Solution

PTC's Selection of Idiom WorldServer Ensures Product Development Means Global Business

Waltham, MA - January 8, 2002 - Idiom Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of content globalization solutions, today announced that PTC, (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development company™, has selected Idiom WorldServer™ 5.0 to globalize its e-business initiatives. PTC's goal is to provide worldwide customers and partners with accurate, timely, and relevant information in appropriate languages and aligned with local business practices. To help accomplish this, PTC has chosen WorldServer to streamline the content globalization process, ensuring a quality customer experience and a consistent global brand.

Nearly 60% of PTC's customers operate outside of North America, with partners and customers that span the world. In order to maintain and grow its leadership position in the product development market, PTC recognized the need to cater to each of its audiences with localized content and services. With WorldServer, PTC plans to translate, localize, and maintain not only its corporate Web site, but also its technical support content, off-line marketing collateral, internal content, as well as PTC's software itself. PTC plans to have its first phase of globalization - offering its corporate site in 10 languages - completed by the second quarter of 2002.

"We are committed to our customers equally, whether they're in North America or abroad, and are determined to provide the same level of information internationally as domestically," said Dan Starr, vice president of e-business at PTC. "We conducted an exhaustive search of globalization management systems, and WorldServer was the clear leader and choice for us. We also felt that the high quality and responsiveness of Idiom's professional services and technical support teams ensure us the highest level of customer service, so we can extend that level of service to our worldwide customers. With WorldServer and Idiom's globalization expertise, PTC can provide exemplary international support and service."

In order to serve its customers and partners better, PTC has begun to centralize the management of its multilingual sites to ensure they are consistent in quality and in-sync with one another, but importantly, still driven by in-country content. Using the WorldServer globalization management system will ensure continued high levels of quality, consistency and ongoing synchronization to support PTC's long-term marketing objectives as well as its short-term local sales objectives.

PTC's first new localized site went live earlier this month in Japanese at http://www.ptc.com/ for those users with Japanese as their preferred browser language. In the near term, PTC will use WorldServer to manage the updates and localization to the Japanese site, as well as manage the translation, localization, and upkeep of nine additional sites, ensuring that each is consistent in content and messaging with the English corporate site. Additionally, WorldServer will be utilized for the management of PTC's localization of: thousands of technical support documents, business documents such as marketing collateral, intranet content such as sales presentations, and PTC's software products.

"PTC's commitment to its worldwide network of customers and partners is one reason why they have experienced solid growth and long-term success," said Fred Lizza, CEO of Idiom. "We're excited that PTC is extending that commitment by deploying WorldServer not only for Web site localization, but also for all of PTC's content globalization needs."
