Ebay Selects Idiom Worldserver For Global Content Management

Idiom's Global Content Management Solution Streamlines Site Management Processes and Accelerates the Translation of Multi-lingual Content

Waltham, Massachusetts - November 19, 2002 - Idiom Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of global content management solutions, today announced eBay the world's online marketplace™ has selected Idiom WorldServer™ for its content management system and globalization solution. Idiom WorldServer supports eBay's mission to create an efficient global online marketplace by streamlining site management processes and accelerating the translation of multi-lingual content.

"eBay's accelerating growth calls for a solution that can be implemented quickly, requires no migration and leverages the company's existing technology," said Chuck Geiger, eBay's vice president of product development. "We conducted an exhaustive competitive pilot process. Idiom WorldServer's superior content management and globalization capabilities make it the clear winner in the areas of functionality, usability and scalability."

eBay needed a way to streamline its content management and globalization processes to better support large groups of authors, while preserving its initial technology investments. By implementing Idiom WorldServer, eBay will be able to automate and synchronize the creation and delivery of new multilingual content in a matter of hours, while seamlessly integrating with its existing software architecture. eBay expects to gain greater productivity in development organizations, increased trading velocity, and an enhanced trading experience for its customers.

"Idiom's unique approach to content and globalization management allows companies to preserve and extend current infrastructure, " said Steve McClure, a program vice president in IDC's Software Research Group. "This major win at eBay serves as testimony to Idiom's progress as one of the leading vendors in this emerging market."

"We are excited that eBay selected Idiom to help them drive their global market strategy, " said Joe Fiorentino, president and CEO of Idiom Technologies. "This further validates our vision and marks the next generation of enterprise solutions that manage the life cycle of content - from creation to globalization, in a single cost-effective offering. "
